ILGLC Launches New Grazing “How-To” Video Series

The Illinois Grazing Lands Coalition (ILGLC) is excited to announce the completion and publication of a brand-new “How-To” Video Series, now available on the ILGLC YouTube Channel and on The Grazing and Forage Hub.

This video series was created to give Illinois graziers practical, easy-to-follow demonstrations of tools and techniques that support regenerative grazing. Each short video focuses on hands-on practices that producers can use to improve their pastures and livestock systems.

Topics include:

• How To Set Up Temporary Paddocks with Polywire

• What Manure and Plant Residual Reveal About Your Grazing

• Calculating Paddock Size and Stocking Rate on Your Adaptive Grazing System

• Before the Move: Check Cattle Body Condition and Temperament

• How To Use Refractometer

• How To Take Forage Brix Test

By showcasing these practices in action, ILGLC aims to make grazing education more accessible to producers across the state. Whether new to grazing or looking to fine-tune a system, these videos provide step-by-step guidance and real-world examples from the field.

This project supports ILGLC’s mission to expand grazing in Illinois through peer-to-peer learning and practical resources that farmers can put to use right away. We encourage our members, partners, and stakeholders to share these videos with graziers who could benefit from additional support in adopting regenerative practices.
