What does it look like when tillable ground goes back to grass and trees? Join Betty Brennan at Bluestem Springs Farms in Potomac, IL to see how she has done it across her operation.
Betty grazes sheep and has turned 10 acres of tillable land into silvopasture with support from Virginia Tech's agroforestry program. She has also enrolled 200 acres of former cropland in the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP). With a grant from Pheasants Forever, she has also removed invasive brush (mostly honeysuckle) from 52 acres of woodland.
This is a chance to walk the ground and hear firsthand how she put these projects together: what worked, what she'd do differently, and how the funding came together.
Bring your questions! ILGLC Pasture Walks are free to attend and lead by peer-to-peer discussion.
