In September 2024, the Illinois Grazing Lands Coalition (ILGLC) wrapped up its second round of grazing schools, marking another successful effort to support Illinois livestock producers in building profitable, sustainable grazing operations.

Curt Rincker, a lifelong advocate for the beef industry and a visionary in grazing management, was given the Master Grazier Award for his contributions to both his farm and the broader agricultural community.

The Illinois Grazing Lands Coalition proudly recognized Jim Burrus as a 2024 Master Grazier, honoring the late farmer’s exceptional contributions to sustainable grazing and the agricultural community.

ILGLC has announced it will host its second annual grazing conference on March 11 and 12, 2025 in Springfield, Illinois. The conference will again include recognition of a cohort of Master Graziers.

Today, the Illinois Grazing Lands Coalition (ILGLC) and U.S. Senator Dick Durbin announced that the farmer-led nonprofit organization will receive a $923,458 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to advance grazing lands conservation throughout Illinois.
